Reporting to the Plant Manager the Material Handler is responsible for stock production machines to sustain uninterrupted operations, manage the safe and efficient movement of inbound and outbound shipments, and maintain a well-organized warehouse that keeps raw materials flowing to where they're needed. This is an opportunity to build foundational supply chain and manufacturing skills within a world-class production environment while growing your career at a global leader in product identification technology.

You'll work closely with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure materials are available at the right place and time. Success in this role means zero production stoppages due to material shortages, a consistently organized and audit-ready warehouse, and timely processing of all truck loading and unloading activity within the first 12–18 months.

This position will be located in Belleville, Illinois.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Stock all production machines with required materials to maintain continuous, uninterrupted manufacturing operations throughout each shift.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to established receiving and shipping schedules.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse to support accurate inventory tracking, fast material retrieval, and a safe working environment.
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming raw materials, verifying quantities and condition against purchase orders, work order documentation, and SOPs.
  • Stage and replenish raw materials at production areas, coordinating with machine operators to proactively prevent supply shortages.
  • Operate automatic or semiautomatic production equipment as needed, monitoring meters, gauges, valves, temperatures, and pressures to meet production and process specifications.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, engineering drawings, and other written and verbal specifications to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Support set-up, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies as assigned to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies promptly to ensure accurate stock levels and support planning activities.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Minimum Qualifications These are the must-have requirements for the role:

  • Experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or a manufacturing production environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
  • Proven ability to follow written instructions including SOPs, work orders, blueprints, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to accurately receive, record, and track inventory.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications These are nice-to-have skills that will set candidates apart:

  • Experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP platform.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent powered industrial truck license.
  • Background in a regulated manufacturing environment such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or industrial.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S workplace organization principles.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or layout plans.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $20 - $22 USD per hour.
