The Distribution Center Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of materials within the Distribution Center (DC). This role supports inbound, outbound, and inventory control processes while ensuring compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position requires operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV), maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting efficient warehouse operations.

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: 6:00AM-4:30PM (Mon-Fri & weekends as needed)

Inbound / Receiving

  • Receive inbound materials from Supplier T1 in accordance with safety standards and procedures.

  • Verify shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL) and schedules.

  • Conduct trailer inspections and document conditions with photographs.

  • Report discrepancies or damages using established processes.

  • Scan and assign materials to proper DC locations by commodity.

  • Maintain documentation and filing requirements.

Material Storage / Put Away

  • Transport and store materials into designated locations.

  • Ensure materials are labeled and stored correctly by commodity.

  • Clear materials from cross-dock areas by end of shift.

Outbound / Shipping & Cross-Docking

  • Prepare and ship materials to following CT-PAT standards.

  • Load materials according to weight restrictions and capacity limits.

  • Secure loads, perform inspections, and document shipments.

  • Complete and distribute shipping documentation.

Order Staging & Fulfillment

  • Stage materials based on pick lists with 100% accuracy.

  • Organize staged materials for efficient shipment.

Inventory Control

  • Perform daily cycle counts per rotation schedules.

  • Report discrepancies to supervisors.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy.

Consolidation

  • Consolidate supplier materials into crates per procedures.

  • Ensure materials are secure and organized.

Workplace Organization & Safety

  • Maintain 5S standards in assigned areas.

  • Follow all safety policies and use PPE properly.

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Material handling and equipment operation (forklift, reach truck and tugger).

  • Warehouse systems and inventory management knowledge.

  • Safety awareness including CT-PAT compliance.

  • Communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail.

Education & Certifications

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Preferred: Vocational or technical training in logistics or warehousing.

Qualifications

  • 0–1 year of warehouse or material handling experience required.

  • 1+ years and experience with scanners or WMS preferred.

Work Environment

  • Warehouse setting with physical activity.

  • Requires standing, walking, lifting, and equipment operation.
