$3.00 Shift Differential

Function Summary

As a Material Handler, you'll play an important role in supporting production and warehouse operations by moving materials where they're needed, when they're needed. This position involves operating forklifts, pallet trucks, overhead cranes, company vehicles, and other material-handling equipment while helping maintain accurate material tracking and a safe, organized work environment.

We're looking for someone who is safety-focused, dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse setting.

What You'll Do

Move Materials & Support Operations

  • Follow direction provided by the Supervisor or designee.
  • Transfer materials and equipment between staging areas and production areas, both physically and systematically, to support accurate material tracking.
  • Load and unload materials by hand, forklift, or pallet jack devices.
  • Maintain the scrap pans program, including gathering and disposition of scrap materials.
  • Perform general labor duties, including cleaning, sweeping, and other tasks as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area utilizing 5S principles and daily organizational practices.

Operate Equipment & Vehicles

  • Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, company vehicles, pickup trucks, and other approved equipment.
  • Operate overhead cranes and jib hoists as required.
  • Maintain truck logbooks while driving or working away from the facility.
  • Operate vehicles in accordance with McLanahan standards and established procedures.
  • Maintain a valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.
  • Successfully complete company-provided forklift training.

Support Safety & Material Control

  • Follow established standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with accurate movement and tracking of materials throughout the facility.
  • Support safe rigging and material handling practices.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.

Promote Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with coworkers, management, customers, and others.
  • Represent McLanahan Corporation positively while supporting the company's core values.
  • Support team goals and contribute to efficient daily operations.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and jib hoists.
  • Prior rigging experience.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to successfully complete company forklift training.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to work successfully in an environment requiring flexibility, initiative, and independent decision-making.

Physical Requirements

This position is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and requires sitting and standing for extended periods. The role requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, lift, carry, move, and maneuver materials as assigned. Employees must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and may be required to travel domestically.
