Job Location: Western Industries Plastic Products - Winfield, KS 671562nd Shift Opening!
Weekends & overtime as needed/required
Starting Rate: $17.00
The Material Handler supports production operations by ensuring a continuous supply of raw materials, accurately verifying pallet counts, labeling materials, and removing finished parts/products from the production floor. This role is also responsible for verifying packaging, staging materials, and preparing finished products for internal or external shipment.

Summary of Job Duties
- Follow work procedures to verify receipt of rail cars and color materials.
- Identify, label, and deliver color materials to storage areas.
- Perform daily and monthly physical inventories and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Pump resin into silos and ensure correct material placement.
- Manage regrind materials and deliver them to production as needed.
- Operate forklift and other power/hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve issues and complete assignments.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
This job will be performed in production with exposure to varying weather conditions and operating in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. Moderate to loud noise levels that require associates to wear hearing protection. This position may require work above or below ground level and in confined spaces. This position will routinely work on and around industrial equipment and systems including, blow molding machinery, CNC machinery, motors, motor control centers, emergency generators, water coolers, air compressors, grinders, hand tools, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, bending, stooping, grip/grasping, twisting, reaching above the head, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs. Ability to use tools and other industrial equipment. Ability to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

QualificationsRequired Skills
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintenance records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
- Ability to learn proper resin identification, raw material quality requirements, and melt index/color sampling processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in non-climate controlled environment.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to teamwork required.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
- 2+ years of forklift experience preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
Work Authorization/ Security Clearance
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
