Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading vendor vehicles, inspection and storage of materials, and processing paperwork appropriately. Additionally, the movement of work-in-process material throughout the facility is to be completed safely and in a timely manner. This role is based in a manufacturing plant, where the ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs is required. The Material Handler must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and complete tasks accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have an engaging demeanor while maintaining an urgent focus on the job, a positive cultural contributor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Unload and load raw materials and vendor parts from incoming trucks
• Organize and load materials onto material racks
• Store raw materials in designated locations following safe forklift practices
• Pull and issue materials to other departments as needed
• Return unused materials to their proper locations in the material racks
• Maintain accurate physical inventory records, supporting cycle count efforts and discrepancy investigations
• Complete necessary paperwork and system transactions promptly
• Provide backup support to the Shipping department
• Perform other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS
• Forklift experience is required.
• Experience in packing, shipping, and receiving is a plus
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Strong organizational skills are preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively within the organization and professionally represent the company to suppliers and visitors
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, while also seeking help when needed
• Reliable transportation is required
• ERP system experience is preferred, but not required
