JOB SUMMARY:
The Material handler is responsible for maintaining embroidery supplies (tear away, backing, foam, thread, needles, etc) and supporting the efficiency of the embroidery department ensuring maximum needle on time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
Organization and inventory tracking of thread and other supplies for production.
Process embroidery supplies and maintain bin levels.
Production consumable supply orders turned in to planning/purchasing every 3 weeks.
Thread color setup/changes for embroidery machines.
EOD recycling/trash pickup from production stations.
Preparation and distribution of foam, backing, etc. to embroidery machines daily.
Collection/organization of empty boxes, carts, totes, etc. in production as needed/as available.
Regularly check embroidery machine Andon lights to interpret machine operator needs.
Respond to Andon light within 5 minutes of observing.
Resupply materials to operator within 10 minutes of taking supply order.
Regularly communicate with operators anticipating potential support needs.
Learn and apply 5S and kanban process to job duties.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
Trim/QC assistance as available during low demand periods.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.

Strong attention to detail, includes identifying colors, sizes, quantity and label information.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence.
Prior experience working in an embroidery production environment preferred.
Enthusiasm to learn and cross-train.
Bi-Lingual, English and Spanish preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in a production environment.
The noise level is moderate. Hearing protection is typically not required.
WORK HOURS:
Full-Time Employment: Monday-Friday, 4:00PM-12:30AM
Additional hours / workdays work may be offered during busy periods.
DRESS CODE:
Closed-toe shoes are required.
Dress appropriate.
Wear PPE as required.
