Environmental Conditions

The Material Handleris responsible forthe safe, efficient, and compliant movement of packaging materials, finished goods, work-in-process materials, and scrap/recycle materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuringaccuratematerial flow, inventory control, and adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Material Movement & Warehouse Operations

  • Move raw materials, parts, work-in-process, and finished goods todesignatedareas usingappropriate equipmentand PPE.

  • Store and issue packaging materials to support production and shipping requirements.

  • Wrap, strap, and prepare skids for safe storage and transportation.

  • Move scrap and recyclable materials toappropriate disposalor recycling areas.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Perform inventory transactions(IC and/or IT)andmaintainaccuratematerial tracking within systems.

  • Conduct cycle counts of raw materials, parts, and work-in-process inventory asrequired

  • Report inventory discrepancies promptly to supervision.

Safety & Compliance

  • Observe all plant, EHS, and safety rules and report unsafeconditions or equipment issues, including completingdailyPIV safety checklist

  • May require the handling ofhazardous materials and wastein accordance withcompany policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehousein accordance with5S standards.

Communication & Support

  • Communicate with supervisionregardingsafety concerns, equipment issues, or operational challenges.

  • Provide supportif neededduringmanpowershortages or high-volume workload periods.

  • Performadditionalduties or training assignments as directed by leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic math and reading skills

  • Basic inventory and cycle counting knowledge.

  • Ability to lift 5–30lbsconsistently.

  • Ability to work in a warehouseand/or manufacturing environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $18.00–$23.00.
