Material Handler (1st Shift)

We are looking for a Material Handler to join our Farris team in Brecksville, OH!

As our Material Handler you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials and products for a facility. You will perform the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.

Location: Brecksville, OH

Salary: $19 - $21 per hour

Your Challenge:

  • Executes daily material handling activities including receiving, inspecting, and storing materials, parts and products. Ensures that all materials are properly labeled, packaged, and stored in designated areas. (20%)
  • Supports the inventory management process by counting and verifying materials, parts and products. Identifies and reports any discrepancies or damages. Recommends process improvements to reduce future discrepancies. (20%)
  • Executes daily warehouse operations, including picking and packing materials, preparing shipments and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Contacts carriers to pick up freight. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. (20%)
  • Performs a variety of kitting and order functions. Performs cycle count inventory. (20%)
  • Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. (20%)

What You Bring:

  • Working knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Physical ability to lift, push and pull materials and equipment.
  • 6 Months of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling 50lbs.
