Position(s): Material Coordinator
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday
Location: Cayce, South Carolina

FB Timberline is seeking an experienced construction Material Coordinator (Full time, Permanent) to support their team in Cayce, South Carolina. The Materials Coordinator will report to Project Manager and work daily with General Foreman, field crews, and vendors to maintain efficient material flow and clear communication.

The Material Coordinator supports project execution by ensuring materials are received, stored, issued, and documented accurately to prevent shortages, delays, or excess inventory. When yard presence is not required for deliveries or material handling, this position may be performed remotely with Project Manager approval.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasks
  • Organize yard and storage areas to ensure safe, efficient access to materials
  • Ensure all material handling activities follow company procedures and safety standards
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, damage, and completeness
  • Track inventory levels and maintain accurate material records
  • Prepare and maintain material logs, delivery tickets, and inventory reports
  • Assist with returns, surplus material management, and required documentation
  • Perform administrative and coordination duties remotely when yard or delivery presence is not required
  • Coordinate receiving, storage, staging, and issuing of materials for projects
  • Communicate material needs, shortages, and delivery schedules with Project Managers, construction teams, procurement, and vendors
  • Support project teams with material forecasting and planning
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to support project schedules and priorities
  • Assist with other tasks and functions assigned to this role as required

What We Are Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED, is required
  • Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of experience in material coordination, warehousing, construction support, or logistics, is preferred
  • Substation construction or electrical experience, is strongly preferred
  • Current and Valid Driver's License, is required
  • Experience working in a yard or project-based construction environment
  • Prior Forklift or equipment operation experience (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of construction materials, prints, tools, and equipment in addition to understanding of inventory control and documentation practices
  • Physically able and willing to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able and willing to travel to various locations as required and work in varying weather conditions and/or environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of management, employees and clients
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and with a sense of ownership and personal commitment to a culture of zero injury/occupational illness
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment leveraging excellence in time management
  • Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract
