Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Material Control Analyst to join our team of highly skilled planning and production scheduling professionals in the Huntsville, Alabama location.. This role requires an extensive background in Deltek Costpoint, or equivalent production scheduling software, and excels at building and executing production schedules that keep complex programs on track. The Material Control Analyst will be responsible for material ordering, tracking and expediting to support multiple production areas.

Primary Responsibilities
o The Material Control Analyst will interface with Production Planners, Program Managers, Production Control as well as suppliers and distributors for quoting purposes.
o Material planner duties will include selecting the best supplier based on cost and lead times, submitting purchase requests to the Dynetics Purchasing department. The candidate will be expected to track orders and expedite as necessary to meet program requirements. Experience in quoting and purchasing electronic components, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assemblies is a plus. This position will require frequent coordination with project managers, engineers, buyers, inventory managers, and suppliers to ensure that material will be available when needed and that proper documentation is in place for orders and proposals.
o Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
o Clearing any material shortages to include expediting materials to meet delivery schedules.
o Working with ECO Coordinator to ensure materials are in house or on order to cover specified changes to builds.
o Ensuring material certifications have been received and are available as needed.
o Managing ISO9001/AS9100 processes within our department
o Gathering quotes, historical data, and other backup to support proposal estimates and justification per Government requirements.
Basic Qualifications
o Candidate must possess a Bachelors degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant work experience or a Master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree a High School diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant work experience will be considered.
o Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing or purchasing activities, including experience obtaining quotes and interacting with vendors.
o Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
o Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
o Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
o Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
o Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:
o Electromechanical components or manufacturing
o Deltek Costpoint accounting software
o Windchill configuration management software
o Interpreting and creating Bills of Materials
o Government contractor material purchasing requirements

Pay Range $52,000.00 - $94,000.00
