Job Description

Leidos is seeking a dynamic Material Handler in Chesapeake, VA. The selected candidate will support warehouse and logistics operations by performing material handling, packaging, inventory, and data management activities in accordance with established procedures.

Key responsibilities include preparing and packaging parts in accordance with specialized packaging requirements; maintaining accurate shipping and receiving documentation; and performing data entry within the organization's automated logistics and materials management systems. The Material Handler will support inventory transactions, maintain accurate material records, and assist with periodic inventory and cycle count activities to ensure inventory accuracy.

Additional duties include maintaining receiving files, organizing and sustaining warehouse cleanliness and physical order, monitoring shipping supply levels to ensure adequate quantities are available, and supporting routine warehouse operations. The position will also interface with supervisors and team members to identify and resolve routine order discrepancies or material-related issues.

The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, capable of following established processes, and able to work effectively in a team environment. The position requires the ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Materials Management Controlling the acquisition, storage, and distribution of materials to support production and operations. Works to achieve day-to-day objectives through completion of routine and well-defined tasks.
  • Process Improvements: Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to processes to address them.
  • Warehousing Operations: Responsible for storage, handling, and distribution of goods within a warehouse facility to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Demonstrates willingness to learn and develop knowledge of materials planning, inventory management, and warehouse operations. Participates in training and development activities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications.

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years or greater of relevant experience.
  • Ability to lift 40 Pounds, Previous Warehouse Experience.
  • General Computer Skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and data entry.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Proficiency with computer database systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $31,850.00 - $57,575.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
