Would you like to combine your chemistry expertise with compliance, materials and sustainability while taking on a central role in an international company where product safety and high quality are essential?
Vikan A/S is a leading global supplier of hygienic cleaning tools for the food and beverage industry as well as other hygiene-sensitive environments. Headquartered in Skive, with more than 125 years of experience and products in more than 90 countries, Vikan helps companies all over the world create cleaner and safer production environments.
As Material & Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the materials used in Vikan’s products meet the company’s high-quality standards and are documented in accordance with applicable legislation. You will build and maintain in-depth professional knowledge of materials, food contact, product and packaging compliance, as well as customers’ increasing sustainability requirements.
Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, you will become an important subject matter expert and sparring partner across the organisation. You will work closely with Product Management, Product Development, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, as well as with suppliers, customers and external test institutes. You will have a broad interface and a visible role, translating complex legislation and technical documentation into useful knowledge and concrete solutions.
You will have a broad and specialised responsibility, which includes:
Monitor and assess developments in applicable food legislation, with a primary focus on EU and FDA regulatory requirements, as well as other relevant jurisdictions within Vikan’s global markets, in order to ensure continuous compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Maintaining and developing documentation for raw materials and other aspects of food contact compliance
Collaborating with raw material suppliers and ensuring that the necessary technical documentation is available and up to date
Coordinating migration analyses with external laboratories and assessing, calculating and communicating test results
Maintaining and further developing Declarations of Compliance and other documentation in Perfion
Advising the internal sales organisation, customers and other stakeholders on regulatory requirements in relation to products
Contributing materials and compliance expertise to product development projects
Participating as a project participant or project manager in connection with the development, testing and implementation of new products
Influence the work with more sustainable materials and contributing to the introduction of new raw materials
Establishing and driving an LCA setup and working with ESG data at product level
You have a strong educational background in chemistry and at least four years of relevant professional experience. You have built solid experience with chemistry, migration testing and compliance, and you have worked in a regulated industry, for example within food, packaging, medical devices or another manufacturing environment with high standards for quality, documentation and product safety.
You understand the regulatory complexity that comes with products for international markets, and you can confidently navigate requirements for food contact materials and documentation. Experience from a manufacturing company, or a strong understanding of material flows, supplier collaboration and the value chain in a manufacturing business, will be an advantage.
At Vikan, you will have the opportunity to make a clear professional impact in an international and values-driven company. You will become a key person in ensuring compliance across markets, while also having the opportunity to influence Vikan’s development of more sustainable materials, ESG and the hygienic cleaning solutions of the future.
