Material and Production Planner
Huntsman is seeking a Material and Production Planner supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Mexico City. This position will report to the Shift Supervisor Jr.
Job Scope
The Material and Production Planner is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating production activities, and ensuring timely and accurate planning and availability of materials to meet production requirements. This role ensures equipment capacity and labor resources required to execute blending and packing execution while maintaining alignment with demand, inventory targets, safety standards, and supply chain commitments. The role operates within the supply chain function, focusing specifically up to the point of purchase order creation and production order creation and release.
In summary, as the Material and Production Planner, you will:
• Develop and maintain short term (daily/weekly) production schedules for assigned packing lines based on forecast, orders, inventory levels, and plant capacity.
• Issue, update, and release production orders for all packaged SKUs.
• Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and quality to sequence packaging runs efficiently and minimize changeovers.
• Participate in daily production meetings to review previous day performance, constraints, and required adjustments.
• MRP, PO placement. Ensure all required raw materials, packaging components (drums, totes, labels), and consumables are available before scheduled production.
• Check stock levels daily and create stock transfer requests or requisitions as needed.
• Monitor late purchase orders and escalate potential shortages.
• Maintain accurate MRP data related to packaging BOMs, rates, and lead times.
• Collaborate to manage aging, slow moving, restricted, or blocked inventory.
• Maintain accurate planning data, lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stocks in the system, and all Master Data related to the role.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to support changes in demand, supply disruptions, or production adjustments.
• Support inventory optimization initiatives through accurate planning and data analysis.
• Support material changes or initiatives that result in improving cost, cash, or service.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Mexico.
Minimum Qualifications
Education required
3+ years of experience in a supply chain or planning-related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
