Are you interested in being mentored by Cyber Security consultants within your research field, and develop skills that will help you write a master thesis? KPMG Cyber Security offers students an opportunity to write their master thesis at our Stockholm and Gothenburg offices this spring.
Writing your master thesis at KPMG Cyber is an excellent way to broaden your knowledge within Cyber and get to know the consulting profession. You will be assigned an experienced consultant and a senior sponsor with knowledge in your industry of interest, who will be your personal advisor from the beginning of your thesis process to the end of your thesis defense.

As a Cyber Security consultant at KPMG, we are part of a global team working across various industries and areas, collaborating with inspiring colleagues and experts in the field. We work shoulder to shoulder with top executives, advising them on how to tackle their security challenges in an efficient and ethical way.
We support our clients in everything from establishing a cyber security strategy to implementing and ensuring compliance with requirements. Our services cover governance, operational technology and incident management.
By joining our team, you will become a part of a tight knit group of approximately 35 professionals from diverse backgrounds, including computer science, political science, law, law enforcement, criminology, and many more. The diversity enriches our team, enabling us to approach cyber security challenges from multiple perspectives and develop comprehensive solutions. Our team consists of experts within cyber security areas such as ISMS, IAM, cyber defense and response, privacy, physical security, cloud security and other cyber related competencies.
What do we offer?
Our master thesis program is a one-semester opportunity that starts in January. During the master thesis period at KPMG Cyber Security, your assigned advisor will challenge your thought process and provide insights into your problems and solutions. Furthermore, you will get a great chance to build a network within KPMG. As part of our master thesis program, you will also be invited to social activities with the team! KPMG have a hybrid way of working, but we encourage our thesis writers to be at the office in central Stockholm or Gothenburg.
We are looking for one high performing and talented individual who are planning to graduate in the first half of 2027 from relevant fields e.g., IT, engineering, information security, law etc. We require fluency in English, Swedish with permit to work in sweden.
As we are a diverse team with different backgrounds, we are always interested in exploring how cyber security and information security can be applied across different industries. Therefore, we encourage you to propose thesis topics that align with your personal area of interest.
In the past, master’s students writing their thesis at KPMG Cyber Security have explored topics such as ISMS assessment and implementation, NIS2-directive and other cyber security regulations, IAM solutions and strategies, AI and privacy, approaches for enhancing organizational security practices, and governance frameworks for cybersecurity.
Apply no later than 11 of October. Please attach your CV and 2-3 suggestions of master thesis topics. The program will start in January 2027.
