In your internship at a globally leading medical technology company,you’llbe right in the middle of the action: The Stryker Sports Medicine team in Freiburg develops patient-specific solutions to support clinical decision-making for indications that can be treated with minimally invasive joint surgery.

As an intern in the team, you will contribute to the advancement of the Sports Medicine patient-specific solution offering. You will investigate and implement novel analysis methods, as well as evaluate the results.

• As a valued member of our international Sports Medicine R&Dteamyou support the advancement of image-based enabling technologies.

• Working with medical image data, you will extend your proficiency in AI/ML by applying computer vision andmachinelearning techniques to develop innovative solutions that can be used in pre-operative analysis and planning. 

• You will be involved in all aspects of AI/ML algorithm development including data preparation and labeling.

• You will gain insights intohow research supports defining solutions for new product development in the medical device industry.

• You will enhance your scripting skills by automating your developed approaches and evaluations and allow for efficient processing of data.

• Academic Pursuit:You are currently pursuingamaster’sdegree in computer science, softwareengineering orsimilarstudyand are actively seeking an internshipfor a 6-month duration.Ideally,you havepreviousexperience with medical imaging.

• Technical Drive:You are passionate about improving your technical expertise, especially in areas like AI/ML,softwaredevelopmentand medical imaging

• Software SavvyIdeally, you are proficient in Python development and have initial experience with deep learning and frameworks such asTensorfloworPyTorchand/or computer vision libraries (e.g. OpenCV), enabling you to work independently

• Effective Communication Your strong spoken and written English skills empower you to confidently engage in our international environment and successfully document your work in scientific English.
