Job Description

The Clements Center for National Security and the Intelligence Studies Project at the University of Texas at Austin seek master's students for a new fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students who want to pursue careers relevant to national/international security after graduation are encourage to apply. This fellowship is not designed for students who want to continue in academia by pursuing a PhD or other professional degree after finishing their master's degree.

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled as a master's student at the University of Texas at Austin (any degree program)
• Be in good standing and have a 3.5 GPA
• Be available to attend meetings throughout the fall and spring semesters. These possible seminars, meetings, and workshops will not confer any academic credit. To avoid conflicts with classes, these will often be held in the mornings, at lunch hours, or in the evening. In the case of longer meetings there may be events on weekends. Students who know they cannot attend the required programming should not apply.

The fellowship is for the 2026-2027 academic year. No required meetings will be held in Austin during the summer semester but accepted students are encouraged to apply for funding to attend language intensive-study or other approved programs at UT or other higher education institutions.

Applications will be accepted until September 25, 2026. We may open a second round of applications in January 2027 but that is not guaranteed.
