Job Description

Bosch Sensortec GmbH develops and markets key technologies in consumer electronics – micro-electro-mechanical sensors (MEMS), solutions and systems for smartphone applications, tablets, video game consoles, wearables, and the Internet of things. The sensors enable devices to recognize their surroundings and to transmit the data collected. MEMS are therefore part of the foundation for a networked world. Bosch Sensortec GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH.

The Bosch Sensortec GmbH is looking forward to your application!

High-performance MEMS gyroscopes are essential for modern applications ranging from consumer electronics to robotics. While initial calibration handles manufacturing tolerances, environmental factors such as temperature changes, mechanical stress and ageing can cause performance drift over time. To maintain long-term accuracy, this project focuses on developing, as well as validating efficient, non-intrusive system identification methods.

  • Instead of relying on complex hardware modifications, as part of your Master thesis, you will explore innovative techniques for injecting test signals directly into the system in order to identify key parameters.
  • You will develop and evaluate innovative concepts for injecting test signals for in-field parameter identification.
  • In addition, you will design and set up test scenarios to validate the developed methods.
  • Last but not least, you will apply your system identification algorithms, benchmark their performance quantitatively and assess their suitability for sensor platforms.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Embedded Systems, Microsystems Technology or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge:
    • a strong understanding of control systems, signal processing and system identification
    • experience with laboratory equipment, as well as microcontrollers is a plus
    • knowledge of MEMS sensor fundamentals or gyroscopes is a major advantage
  • Personality and Working Practice: you are an enthusiastic and creative individual who is genuinely willing to collaborate with international, as well as interdisciplinary teams
  • Work Routine: your on-site presence is required
  • Languages: very good in English

Additional Information

Start: according to prior agreement
