About the Project

Department: Stockholm Small and Medium Power Laboratory

In this project, you will contribute to the development of integrated magnetic components for next-generation power converter topologies. Your work will include designing and optimizing planar magnetic components, supported by advanced simulation tools and laboratory validation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing integrated magnetic components for innovative power converter architectures.
  • Developing and applying optimization routines, validated through Finite-Element Method (FEM) simulations.
  • Creating a systematic framework for planar magnetic component design.
  • Building and testing custom prototypes, with validation through practical laboratory experiments.
  • Documenting and presenting your methods, results, and insights.

Timeline

Given our current project schedules, we are looking for master’s students
available to start in spring 2026.

Your Profile

  • Background Strong mathematical background and strong logical thinking. Strong programming skills, Python is a plus. Good theoretical understanding of power electronic converters is a plus.
  • Communication Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Team & Independence Capable of working effectively both in teams and independently.
  • Commitment to Quality High attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality work.
  • Desirable Experience Master’s degree student in an area related to Power Electronics or a similar subject. Experience in the field of power electronics and/or FEM simulations (e.g., bachelor’s thesis, university projects, professional experience, lectures, etc.).
