Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Testing and benchmarking are essential for developing AI models. However, most AI benchmarks measure performance on predefined tasks, with limited insight into interactive experiences such as games. New methods are needed to evaluate AI within the player experience.

The Player Experience Inventory (PXI) is a validated, open-access method grounded in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Games User Research (GUR) for measuring gameplay experience.

Current Player Experience methods rely on post-gameplay questionnaires. Emerging games generate content dynamically, making experiences contextual and hard to predict. New methods must capture context, adaptation, social interaction, coherence, and memorable moments, combining subjective feedback with behavioral data.

The objective of the project is to research, investigate, and prototype an extension of PXI for evaluating dynamic and AI-driven game experiences. The outcome will be a working prototype, empirical evaluation, and recommendations for Player Experience testing at EA.
