Master Scheduling Supervisor

About the Role

The Master Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for leading production scheduling and customer service activities while driving the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure customer delivery requirements are achieved. This role oversees scheduling personnel and collaborates closely with Production, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, Logistics, Customer Service, and Operations teams to support schedule accuracy, inventory optimization, capacity planning, material readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do

• Lead, implement, and maintain the Master Production Schedule to support customer demand while optimizing production flow and operational efficiency.
• Supervise, coach, and develop schedulers, planners, and service personnel to drive accountability, cross-training, and continuous improvement.
• Analyze customer demand requirements and ensure production schedules, inventory plans, and material requirements align with customer expectations.
• Monitor delivery performance metrics, including customer service and Misdeliveries Per Million (MPM), and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Support monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities to align production volumes, capacity, staffing, equipment, and supplier readiness.
• Manage inventory levels and safety stock strategies while balancing customer service, production continuity, and inventory carrying costs.
• Review sequencing, procurement activities, production plans, and customer schedules to maintain alignment across the supply chain.
• Maintain and improve scheduling and service-related KPI scorecards.
• Coordinate engineering changes, production transitions, inventory management activities, and system updates.
• Lead daily and weekly scheduling reviews while communicating priorities, constraints, and risks to leadership teams.
• Develop and maintain capacity plans based on production throughput, labor availability, tooling constraints, and material availability.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory discrepancies and root causes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as a key ERP/MES resource for planning data integrity, reporting, and system discipline.

What You Need To Be Successful:

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate team members.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
• Experience managing production schedules within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management, MRP, ERP systems, capacity planning, forecasting, and supply chain management principles.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational goals.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Automotive manufacturing experience.
• Experience supporting Just-In-Time (JIT) production environments.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including Nysus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
• Experience with inventory optimization and customer delivery performance improvement initiatives.
• Prior experience leading or supervising scheduling, planning, or customer service teams.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in production scheduling, supply chain planning, materials management, manufacturing operations, or a related industrial environment.
• SAP experience required.

Travel:

• Minimal travel required.
• Occasional travel may be necessary to support training, customer meetings, supplier reviews, or business initiatives.
