Dairy Farmers of Americais looking for highly dependable team player to join our staff as MASTER MAINTENANCE UTILITIES TECHNICIANat our Mechanicsburg, PA facility.

Starting Rate: $40.00 per hour

Provide complete electrical and mechanical maintenance support for the utilities systems in a high-speed bottling facility. Ensure that processing, filling, sterilizing, and packaging equipment are supplied with the necessary clean steam, water, compressed air, etc. Execute repair work orders and requests in a timely manner to ensure production needs are met. Perform the above tasks in a safe manner following safety and environmental regulations.

Shift: Fulltime rotating 12-hour day shift (6am-6:30pm). Work three days one week, four days the next week. Off every other weekend.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a 1,000 HP and two 800 HP boilers and back-up fuel oil system.
  • Maintain de-aerators, de-alkalizers, and water softeners
  • Maintain chemical feed systems for boiler water quality.
  • Conduct water quality tests for boiler water quality
  • Maintain and monitor four Trane chillers.
  • Maintain five evaporative cooling towers.
  • Conduct water quality tests for retort cooling water loop.
  • Maintain two Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems
  • Monitor utility’s chemical inventory to include ordering chemicals when needed.
  • Maintain three large air compressors
  • Provide immediate assistance to downtime situations.
  • Trouble-shoot equipment malfunctions and make repairs accordingly.
  • Ensure all repairs are documented.
  • Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
  • Follows all DFA GMP’s, cleans work areas upon completing a project and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Perform other tasks and jobs as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

§High School/GED, Technical/Military/College a plus.

§Experience working with processing, bottling, canning, packaging equipment, or related field is preferred.

§Minimum 3 years of skilled industrial maintenance experience.

§Experience in plant utilities is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of, and ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with CMMS programs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer system
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
