The Master Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled processing of Master Data activities across the Material, Vendor, Customer, and Finance domains.
Reporting locally within the delivery centre and operating with a dotted line into the Master Data Governance & Operations leadership team, the role connects day-to-day operational delivery with domain ownership, data quality expectations, and stakeholder support needs.
The specialist supports issue resolution across domains, and ensures strong operational discipline, service delivery, and process control. The role plays a key part in creating a scalable and reliable master data operating model that supports strong data quality and responsive business support.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Operational Delivery
- Support day-to-day master data operations across in-scope domains, ensuring timely and accurate processing of master data requests including creation, change, and deletion activities.
- Oversee workload allocation, queue management, and service performance across the team to meet agreed turnaround times, quality expectations, and business priorities.
- Monitor operational trends, request volumes, exceptions, and capacity risks to maintain stable delivery.
- Support continuity of service across the team and ensure issues are escalated and resolved effectively.
- Oversee or support additional master data request types, such as BOM changes, as scope evolves.
2. Data Quality, Controls & Governance
- Ensure robust validation of master data requests so inputs are complete, accurate, and aligned with defined standards.
- Maintain adherence to governance requirements, approval controls, and standard operating procedures across all request types.
- Support strong data quality outcomes by reinforcing disciplined processing, issue identification, and follow-up.
- Escalate recurring data defects, control gaps, or process issues to the appropriate onshore and operational stakeholders.
- Support audits, control reviews, and documentation updates to maintain a well-governed master data environment.
- Ensure standard operating procedures within the tower are reviewed, updated, validated, and maintained, and that changes in process, controls, or stakeholder requirements are reflected accurately.
3. Stakeholder, Customer & Service Experience
- Act as a key operational contact for stakeholders requiring support on master data requests, processes, and system navigation.
- Build a strong service mindset within the team, ensuring stakeholders receive responsive, clear, and professional support.
- Partner with onshore master data leaders and domain owners to align on priorities, issue resolution, and ways of working.
- Help resolve complex or sensitive requests by balancing service, control, and data integrity considerations.
- Support a consistent user experience across domains through clear communication and operational follow-through.
4. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify and implement process improvements that improve service delivery, quality, request handling, and stakeholder experience.
- Use operational data and recurring issue analysis to reduce rework, strengthen controls, and simplify ways of working.
- Partner with onshore and delivery centre stakeholders to refine workflows, clarify handoffs, and strengthen service performance.
- Support process standardisation across domains while allowing flexibility for role and scope evolution.
- Contribute to building a scalable operating model for master data support and stewardship in GCC Manila.
5. Performance Measures
- Service Delivery: Meet agreed turnaround times and service levels for master data requests across all in-scope domains.
- Data Accuracy & Quality: Maintain high right-first-time performance and low error or rework rates across request processing.
- Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to approvals, SOPs, and governance standards, with no critical control failures.
- Stakeholder Experience: Achieve positive stakeholder feedback on responsiveness, clarity, and support provided by the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Deliver measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, request quality, or stakeholder experience.
- Reporting & Visibility: Ensure clear operational visibility of service performance, issues, and trends across the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Training in process improvement, data management, or shared services operations desirable.
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in master data operations, data management, or shared services delivery roles.
- Demonstrated experience handling master data transactions across one or more core domains such as Material, Vendor, Customer, or Finance.
- Proven ability to manage complex requests, escalations, and process controls with sound judgment.
- Experience working with stakeholders across functions and geographies preferred.
- Experience in GBS, shared services, or GCC environments desirable.
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Strong understanding of master data processes, controls, and quality requirements.
- Ability to review and validate requests thoroughly to ensure complete and accurate data capture.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP or master data workflows and request management processes.
- Ability to monitor service performance, analyse trends, and act on operational issues.
- Strong documentation and process discipline.
