Job Description

The Master Data Specialist establishes the required master data in SAP that supports the production process for any new products and any existing products going through a revision process.

This role offers a hybrid arrangement, with an agreed-upon portion of work time spent at our office in Archbold, Ohio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains an understanding of: product and material specifications that are established by product engineering; how part families should flow efficiently through value streams as established by value stream leadership; machine capabilities and capacities.
  • Collaborates with process specialists in determining most efficient routing options for manufacturing execution.
  • Determines what materials and quantities are required to manufacture each part at each operation step.
  • Establishes and maintains primary and alternate routings per material.
  • Creates the necessary production versions by combining the appropriate Bill of Material, routing and classifications.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other departments and staff as needed regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate manufacturing processes.
  • Provides input or suggested changes to bills of material or routings that would enable parts to be produced more efficiently and at a lower total cost.
  • Manages appropriate master data changes related to the ECN process.
  • Performs ongoing auditing and maintenance of master data rules and values that improves control of data, ensures consistency and eliminates waste.
  • Processes ‘work flow task’ in a timely fashion to streamline new products and existing product changes as they flow through manufacturing.
  • Makes recommendations to modify existing or add new manufacturing capacities or capabilities to meet the requirements of new and/or revised products.
  • Work with databases, spreadsheets, queries, and other tools to collect, aggregate, analyze, and distribute necessary data to support the value streams.
  • Quickly respond to changing business needs by utilizing SAP mass maintenance tools to automate the process of entering / updating data.
  • Provides back-up master data support for material master, planning, and work center maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • SAP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

PAY SUMMARY

Expected offer range: $57,000 - $76,000. The actual salary will be based on factors such as location, relevant experience, and skills. The Max salary listed is not the top of the salary band.
