Job Description

The SAP Master Data Planner will serve as a key player in the reengineering of Maintenance processes within the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module. They will play a pivotal role in developing training materials, acting as a key user, and actively participating in maintenance work sessions and meetings to identify process gaps & propose solutions. The primary responsibility will be to enhance the efficiency of Maintenance business processes, specifically in the areas of Maintenance Planning & Reliability. They will also contribute to the Ray Reliability Project and expedite ad-hoc requests for material creations, extensions, and modifications.

This role has the potential to grow into an AMC Maintenance Key user and support in corporate strategic projects.

Essential Functions:

  1. SAP Trainer – General User through Master Data Planner/Scheduler Super User:
  • Develop comprehensive training manuals for Maintenance business processes within the SAP PM module.
  • Conduct training sessions for general users and master data planner/scheduler super users.
  • Ensure users are proficient in utilizing SAP PM functionalities for efficient maintenance operations.

  • SAP Equipment Master Data Super User:
    • Take ownership of SAP Equipment Master Data processes and act as a super user for this critical aspect of maintenance operations. Initially at an ASARCO level, and in a medium-term, at an AMC Corporate level
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment master data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

  • SAP Maintenance Key/Super User for Testing and Approvals:
    • Spearhead testing activities related to maintenance processes within SAP PM.
    • Provide approvals for changes and enhancements in the SAP system, ensuring compliance with maintenance standards and policies. Initially at an ASARCO level, and in a medium-term, at an AMC Corporate level

  • Active Participation in Maintenance Work Sessions and Meetings:
    • Attend regular maintenance work sessions and meetings to understand operational needs.
    • Identify opportunities for improvements and provide valuable insights in Materials/Spare Parts Planning and MRP for stock and consignment materials.

  • Support Maintenance Reliability Project:
    • Contribute to the maintenance reliability project by offering expertise in SAP PM processes.
    • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of maintenance improvements.

  • Ad-Hoc Requests Management:
    • Streamline the process for ad-hoc requests related to material creations, extensions, and modifications.
    • Prioritize and expedite requests to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • In-depth knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module.
    • Strong understanding of Maintenance business processes, Materials/Spare Parts Planning, and MRP.
    • Excellent training and communication skills.
    • Ability to act as a key user and provide support for SAP Equipment Master Data processes.
    • Experience in testing and approving changes within the SAP system.
    • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Project management skills and the ability to contribute effectively to cross-functional teams.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or relevant related field. Master’s degree preferred.
    • +5 years experience in Maintenance/Warehouse experience in the mining industry
    • Certification in SAP PM module is highly desirable.
    • Extensive experience as an SAP Trainer, preferably with a focus on Maintenance processes.
    • Prior experience as a key user for SAP PM, specifically in Equipment Master Data.
    • Proven track record of supporting maintenance reliability projects and implementing process improvements.
    • Familiarity with Materials/Spare Parts Planning and MRP within SAP PM.
