The main objective of LUCA program is to successfully upgrade METRO’s Finance to SAP S/4HANA to ensure business continuity and avoid security and compliance risks. The LUCA program is, in addition, a critical enabler of METRO’s strategy to achieve standardization, harmonization, and centralization.

Within this international transformation program, the SAP Master Data Governance for Finance (MDG-F) Specialist supports the governance and quality of financial master data. The role focuses on ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment between finance processes and system solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to join a large-scale SAP transformation and build expertise in financial master data governance. We are looking for analytical, ambitious individuals eager to grow in a complex system environment. Previous SAP implementation experience is welcome, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a contact point for MDG-F-related topics within the project and with implementation partners
  • Support implementation and governance of financial and controlling master data in SAP S/4HANA (e.g. GL accounts, cost centers, profit centers)
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, external partners, and project stakeholders to ensure data consistency and alignment with business requirements
  • Work closely with different parties to understand existing AS-IS processes and support their transformation into the new TO-BE system environment
  • Maintain and support data standards, naming conventions, and governance procedures
  • Contribute to data quality monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support data harmonization activities during rollout preparation
  • Participate in cross-functional finance and transformation activities
  • Assist in post-go-live stabilization and issue resolution
  • Identify opportunities to optimize data-related processes and improve efficiency

Education & Knowledge

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, IT, or related field
  • Understanding of financial accounting principles and how they translate into system structures such as general ledger, chart of accounts, postings, and financial reporting
  • 1-3 years of working experience with finance processes (preferably within GA area) and/or finance master data management

Experience (Advantage, Not Mandatory)

  • Exposure to ERP systems or data-related processes
  • Familiarity with SAP (e.g., FI/CO or MDG) is a plus
  • Experience in project or transformation environments is beneficial

Other Requirements

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
  • Availability for regular international travel is required
