Job Description

Nexstar Media Group, Inc., the nation’s largest television owner/operator group is seeking a Master Control Hub Manager for our facility in Denver, Colorado. The Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational excellence, and technical integrity of the Denver Hub. This role provides direct oversight of Hub operations and engineering staff, ensures reliable 24/7 broadcast operations, manages budgets and capital projects, and serves as a key liaison between the Hub, supported stations, centralized traffic, vendors, and corporate leadership.

  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and training to Hub Operations and Engineering staff
  • Manage the Hub Operational Expense budget
  • Plan yearly capital projects and manage those projects within approved budget
  • Create and maintain staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, coaching and counseling
  • Supervise the maintenance and installation of Hub equipment to include software upgrades as advised by IT
  • Interface with key Hub vendors and suppliers
  • Provide effective communication and coordination with stations served by Hub, Centralized Traffic and other Hubs to ensure all needs are met in a timely manner
  • Provide timely and effective communication to the Director, Broadcast Hub Services on all issues affecting the Hub and affiliated spoke stations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Requirements & Skills:

  • Minimum five years of management experience in a Master Control Hub environment
  • Extensive knowledge of television master control operations, FCC regulations related to master control operations and the ability to effectively manage people in a high paced, 24/7 operations
  • Working knowledge and experience with Florical Automations systems, Telestream Vantage, Harmonic Media Grid & Spectrum servers, Open Gear equipment, and various encoding systems
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs, bend, squat and kneel to install and maintain equipment
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time while monitoring operations
  • COMPENSATION:

    $100,000.00-$120,000.00 Annualized - - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
