Group 1 Honda Greenbelt is part of the fast-growing Group 1 Automotive, a leader in automotive retail. We are looking for a full-time Master Technician / Shop Foreman to join our team.

As a Master Technician / Shop Foreman, you will lead the daily operations of the Mechanical Shop, ensuring timely, high-quality, and efficient repairs while supporting the training, development, and performance of our technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain technicians to maintain appropriate shop staffing.
  • Optimize workflow and dispatch repair orders to meet customer and production goals.
  • Ensure proper use and compliance with DMS and Xtime.
  • Monitor technician performance, productivity, and repair quality.
  • Provide hands-on diagnostic and repair support as needed.
  • Maintain and enforce Quality Control standards.
  • Ensure technicians remain current on required training and Honda certifications.
  • Support technician progression through Maintenance, Repair, and Diagnostic certification levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Warranty, Safety, Compliance, and KPA requirements.
  • Maintain shop equipment in safe, proper working condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Service Management.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a automotive technician is required
  • Honda or Acura Master Certified strongly preferred

  • Proficient with dealership systems and processes (CDK experience a plus)
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Maryland driver's license and a good driving record

Compensation: The expected compensation for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions
