Undergeneralsupervisionperformdutiestoprovidecleaningandmaintenanceofbuildings,furnitureandfixtures.Serveasteam leader andtrain others in proper work methods and procedures.

EssentialFunctions:

PerformallessentialfunctionsofaBuildingServicesWorker.Sweep,mop,strip,

wax,polishandrenewfloorsurfaces. Clean and shampoo rugs and carpets.

Clean,dustandwaxfurnitureandfixturesinclassrooms/labs,officesandresidencehalls.Cleanandemptytrashreceptacles.

Scrub,cleanandsanitizerestrooms(sinks,mirrors,commodes,urinals,showers,

stalls,etc.);stocksupplies.

Plan,leadand assign work for assigned staff.Inspect buildings and reviewqualityof work performed by Assistant BuildingServicesWorkersandBuildingServicesWorkers.Trainnewemployeesonallequipmentoperationandjobduties. Coordinate and plan special projects.Record inventory andorderssupplies.

Cleanandmaintainentranceglass,hallways,lobbies,stairs,elevators,walls, doors removesnowandicefromwalkways, check supplies, stockclosetsand order necessary supplies.Clean andmaintainequipment.

Completework,timeandmaterialusagereports.Performotherduties as assignedbySuperintendent/Supervisor.

Additional Position Information:

Education:

RequireshighschooldiplomaorGEDAbilitytoadd,subtract,multiplyanddividenumbers(includingfractionsanddecimals). Must be able to read and write using English vocabulary.

Licenses/Certifications:

ValidOhioDriver’sLicense.

Experience:

Requiresaminimumof2yearsexperienceinrunningavacuum,floorbuffer,floorburnisher,automaticfloorscrubber,carpetand upholsteryequipment.Experiencemaintainingandcleaningbuildings,furnitureandfixturesrequiredExperienceleadingotherspreferred.

Leadership:

Provideguidancetononexemptstaffincludinggeneralscheduling,assigningtasksandmonitoringtheworkofothers,asassigned by the Supervisor.

PhysicalRequirements:

Mustbeabletolift80poundswithoutassistanceanddemonstratebending,crouchingandlifting.Mustbeabletoclimbaladder.

WorkingConditions:

Routine exposure to heat, cold,moisture/wetness, inclementweather,noiseand air pollution.Mayinvolve exposure to chemical substances,hazardsandmovingparts.WorkscheduleissubjecttochangeinaccordancewithUniversityneedsand/ortheresults of the shift line-up process.Overtime/Call-ins may be mandatory based onUniversityneed

Master Building Services Worker– $16.48/hr., after one year $17.00/hr.+ Full Benefits + Pension & Paid Time Off
