Under the direction of the Spa Manager, the incumbent provides professional, high quality massage and bodywork, including specialty and potentially other Spa and Salon treatments and services, based on education and certifications. Massage Therapists are ambassadors of hospitality and good will, executing the standards of excellence to and for each guest. In addition to performing massage and body treatment services, and based on education and certifications, Massage therapists may be trained in other spa modalities including but not limited to energy work, hydrotherapy, body wraps, exfoliations, nail services and specialty treatments, etc. General knowledge of spa operations, equipment, products and procedures is essential. High school diploma or GED required. Must have completed approved coursework in Massage training in an accredited educational enterprise and successfully passed the CT State Board exam and hold a current and unencumbered CT state license to practice Massage. National Massage Certification a plus. Six (6) months of prior service provider experience in massage with proven proficiency and mastery the massage modality in a spa, salon or related beauty industry is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to deal well with people. Must be able to prioritize and be multi-tasked. Computer and keyboard experience necessary so as to utilize reservation software. Must posses the ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, protocols, TCIs and policy & procedure manuals, standards and procedures, disciplinary notices, and performance reviews. Must possess a valid and unencumbered CT state Massage license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a CT gaming license as required by MPGE. The Foxwoods Grand Spa and Salon Massage Therapist is scheduled by bid shift and adjusted based on flow of business and client demand. The schedule is designed to be flexible to reflect times of guest treatment time preference. Schedules are periodically reviewed by management and as such may be set or changed by management in order to accommodate business regardless of seniority or prior scheduling practices. Must be able to work flexible hours including but not limited to shifts scheduled days, evenings, weekends and holidays, as business demands
