Located on the historic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, The Spa Biltmore delivers an elevated wellness experience inspired by luxury hospitality, personalized service, and exceptional guest care. We are seeking passionate and highly skilled Massage Therapists who are dedicated to providing exceptional treatments while delivering warm, intuitive, and personalized guest experiences in a luxury resort spa environment.

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing professional massage and body treatments that promote relaxation, wellness, and overall guest satisfaction. Therapists are expected to deliver customized services that align with The Spa Biltmore's luxury service standards while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, cleanliness, and guest care.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent technical skills, a genuine passion for hospitality, and the ability to anticipate guest needs in a luxury resort setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional massage services including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports Massage, Hot Stone, and other approved modalities.
  • Conduct thorough guest consultations to assess wellness goals, contraindications, and treatment preferences.
  • Customize each service to meet individual guest needs while maintaining treatment standards and protocols.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, and relaxing environment that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Uphold Forbes Travel Guide service standards and luxury hospitality principles in every guest interaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of treatment rooms, work areas, and equipment in accordance with state regulations and spa standards.
  • Accurately document guest preferences, treatment notes, and recommendations.
  • Educate guests on wellness practices and recommend appropriate retail products, enhancements, and future services.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled shifts and appointments.
  • Participate in training programs, team meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Support overall spa operations and assist fellow team members as needed to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program.
  • Current North Carolina Massage Therapy License in good standing.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional massage therapy experience required.
  • Luxury resort spa experience strongly preferred.
  • Forbes Travel Guide-rated property experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-volume luxury hospitality environment preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of massage therapy techniques and bodywork modalities.
  • Strong understanding of guest-centered service and luxury hospitality standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and upper-body movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout treatment areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform multiple treatments per shift while maintaining service excellence and professionalism.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a luxury spa environment with exposure to massage oils, lotions, aromatherapy products, low lighting, and ambient music. Flexible scheduling is required, including weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods.
