Job Shift: Day, For more than 130 years, Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has been a trusted provider of senior care. Beyond Hospice, part of Episcopal Homes, is seeking a compassionate Massage Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team.
In this role, you’ll provide massage therapy focused on comfort, relaxation, pain relief, and quality of life while providing meaningful one-on-one support to hospice patients.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $25.00-$33.97/hr. DOE
Schedule: Part-Time Days
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional massage and body treatments in accordance with Beyond Hospice protocols and accepted massage therapy practices
- Provide individualized massage therapy based on each patient’s comfort needs, preferences, and plan of care
- Help promote relaxation, comfort, pain relief, decreased muscle tension, and overall well-being
- Contact patients and families to schedule visits based on patient needs and scheduling preferences
- Provide respectful and compassionate care in the patient’s preferred environment
- Observe patients during visits and report significant changes, concerns, or interpersonal issues to the RN Case Manager or Supervisor
- Collaborate with the RN Case Manager to schedule massage visits according to the patient’s plan of care and therapy frequency
- Communicate patient visits, needs, and preferences with members of the interdisciplinary hospice team
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation according to Beyond Hospice policies and procedures
- Follow appropriate sanitation and infection-control practices
- Maintain professional boundaries, conduct, and appearance
- Collaborate with the hospice team and leadership to support quality patient care and effective use of resources
- Participate in team planning and quality improvement efforts focused on patient and family satisfaction
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program with a minimum of 500 hours of training
- Certification from an accredited massage therapy program
- Basic knowledge of hospice care and an understanding of how massage therapy can support patients at the end of life
- Comfortable providing care to terminally ill patients and their families
- Strong active listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, individualized care based on each patient’s needs and preferences
- Professional attitude, appearance, and appropriate boundaries
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to perform massage therapy requiring manual dexterity and standing for extended periods
Preferred
- At least 2 years of massage therapy experience
- Membership in a professional massage therapy association
- Previous hospice, healthcare, senior living, or end-of-life care experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hands throughout the workday
Work Environment
- Care is provided in hospice homes, patient residences, and other community-based settings
- Regular interaction with patients and families experiencing emotional and sensitive end-of-life situations
- Must follow all infection-control and safety procedures
- After-hours or weekend availability may be needed based on patient needs

Qualifications: Qualifications

- Have a basic knowledge of hospice care and how massage therapy can benefit patients. Understands hospice philosophy and is comfortable providing care to the terminally ill.
- Demonstrates professional attitude, boundaries, and appearance.
- Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements and is in good working order.
- Demonstrates good active listening skills, and compassionate, individualized plans of care for each patient.
- Certification from an accredited program
Preferred Qualifications
