Job Description

The Marsh General Laborer will contribute on marshes by completing day to day tasks generated by the marsh managers and owners.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all applications on marshes including herbicide, insecticide, fungicide, and fertilizer
• Help with boom/tractor maintenance and repair
• Assist with irrigation and irrigation maintenance
• Be a part of frost watch during spring-summer months
• Maintain daily communication between crew and marsh manager on daily tasks
• Be an active member of the harvest crew
• Work on on-going projects during down time and winter months
• Contribute to sanding season during winter months
• Weld/fabricate when needed
• Be involved in detailed record keeping for all Gardner Properties (or property)
• Attend certain schoolings/trainings when needed
• Other tasks assigned by management

Requirements

Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Farming and mechanical experience preferred
• Maintenance experience preferred
• WPS training and Pesticide Applicator Training preferred
• Motivated
• Self-driven
• Love for the outdoors
