Job Description

JP Morgan is looking for an Analyst to join the Global Commodities Group based in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. This Analyst will be an integral part of the Asia Pacific Sales team and will be a key member supporting the existing business as well as growth and expansion in new markets & products. The role will focus on the global metals markets supporting JP Morgan’s corporate clients all over Asia.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven salesperson to join a global sales desk specializing in the metals markets.

As an Analyst within the Commodities Sales Team, you will be responsible for supporting APAC Sales with marketing, origination, pre- and post-trade activities, market research, and pricing analysis. You will prepare marketing materials, generate trade ideas, and assist with operational requirements. Your role includes internal liaison across various groups with limited client interaction in select domiciles. You will ensure accurate data management and help resolve trade-related discrepancies. This position is a vital part of the growth strategy of JPM’s APAC Commodities business.

Job responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute general market updates and marketing materials to Sales teams
  • Provide market colour and sectoral studies
  • Conduct research and analysis on market and industry landscapes, and specific client profiles
  • Generate new trade ideas and support ideation of trade structures for Sales teams
  • Build pitch books, presentations, and sample models in Excel for Sales
  • Input and manage data in internal systems as required by Sales
  • Liaise internally with legal, control rooms, and operations to support pre-trade activities
  • Back-test performance of new trades and support pricing for various asset classes
  • Assist with syndication of pre-booking operational requirements
  • Upload, update, and manage executed trades in internal systems
  • Prepare indicative term sheets and product documentation for executed trades

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Understanding of financial products (FXO, Rates, Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrated interest in global financial markets

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Experience in a financial services support role
  • Familiarity with operations of a bank
  • Knowledge of market research tools and techniques
  • Exposure to pricing vanilla and exotic solutions
  • Experience with client-facing activities
  • Advanced Excel or data visualization skills
