
Marketing Strategy Specialist
Position Summary The Specialist, Marketing Strategy is a key member of the Marketing and Communications department, supporting the development and execution of marketing initiatives across Stony Brook Medicine. Reporting to the Director of Campaign Strategy, this role works closely with those who lead or support clinical practices, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to understand business goals and develop coordinated marketing plans across paid, owned and earned channels that support growth, physician and consumer engagement and retention.This new position supports marketing efforts for Stony Brook Medicine’s inpatient services and programs, physicians and clinical services, as well as outpatient locations. This is a hands-on role that combines strategic thinking with strong execution. The ideal candidate understands healthcare consumers, patient decision-making and the competitive healthcare landscape and understands how different marketing channels work together.At Stony Brook Medicine, the Specialist, Marketing Strategy is responsible for ensuring marketing initiatives are strategic, audience-appropriate and aligned with the overall Stony Brook Medicine brand, organizational priorities and compliance standards. The role requires someone who can manage multiple priorities, coordinate projects and use data and insights to evaluate results.Duties of a Marketing Strategy Specialist may include the following but are not limited to:· Work closely with those who lead or support clinical practices to understand their business goals and objectives and support the development and execution of marketing plans that address them.· Identify target audiences, market opportunities, messaging and the appropriate mix of paid, owned and earned channels; translate strategies into actionable plans, timelines and deliverables.· Develop and support content strategies across websites, including Stony Brook Medicine's Health Hub, social media, email and other marketing channels, working with physicians, subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to create audience-focused content.· Collaborate with Digital Content staff on digital strategy and execution, incorporating SEO best practices, keyword research, AI-driven search and audience insights; repurpose and extend content across channels to maximize reach and effectiveness.· Support paid advertising and media planning across social, search, display, streaming audio, digital out-of-home and other channels, working with agency and vendor partners on planning, creative, production, implementation and optimization.· Manage multiple marketing projects from planning through execution, including timelines, deliverables, approvals and budgets; use project management tools to prioritize work, address challenges and respond to changing needs.· Monitor marketing trends, audience behaviors, competitive activity and campaign performance to identify opportunities and inform marketing, content and media strategies.· Analyze marketing and campaign performance across paid, owned and earned channels, using benchmarks and measures of success to develop actionable insights and recommendations.· Develop and coordinate direct mail and traditional marketing initiatives as part of integrated campaigns.QualificationsRequired Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business or related field.· 5+ years of marketing, advertising, communications or related experience· Strong understanding of strategic marketing, digital advertising, content marketing, SEO and traditional marketing channels.· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaborate across teams· Experience with project management platforms such as Monday.com or Asana.· Must have strong writing, editing and oral communication skills· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointPreferred Qualifications: · Healthcare marketing.· Experience working with agencies and external vendors.· Experience supporting or managing integrated marketing campaigns.· Experience with web analytics platforms such as Heap is a plus.Special Notes: Resume/CV should be included with the online application.Posting Overview: This position will remain posted until filled or for a maximum of 90 days.
