The Marketing Strategy and Planning Associate Director serves as the strategic and operational engine of the Brand & Marketing Communications (BMC) organizational unit. The incumbent will own BMC's annual marketing plan, setting direction and building a clear, funded roadmap for the organization to execute against. This role is critical in driving BMC's operational excellence, ensuring the right resources and planning rhythms are in place to achieve functional goals.
This role reports to the Senior Director, Marketing Planning and Transformation, and has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy and Planning
- Strategy & Planning: Own and develop the annual marketing strategic plan for BMC.
- Investment & Budget: Lead budget planning, marketing investment decisions, and the creation of detailed business cases.
- Audience: Define the customer segmentation and audience strategy in partnership with the Marketing Intelligence and Insights teams.
- Goals & Cadence: Manage BMC goal and priorities tracking, and establish the BMC operating cadences and planning rhythms.
- Special Projects: Oversee special projects essential to the department's strategic roadmap.
- Analytics & Performance
- Data-Driven Strategies: Partner with Marketing Intelligence and Insights teams to translate data into actionable plans and investment decisions.
- Performance Benchmarks: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure overall marketing performance and iterate on strategies accordingly.
- Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Brand Marketing & Communications counterparts on centralized strategy and content planning spanning enterprise-level surfaces.
- Team Support: Support the Senior Director in fostering a "test and learn" culture of out-of-the-box thinking and organizational transformation.
- Support & Enablement: Provide support to the PR & Communications team around BMC town halls and lead other critical operating rhythms across BMC.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
Work Experience
- 7-10 years Experience in marketing strategy, planning, and operations, ideally within a large, matrixed organization or global brand. Req

- Strategic Vision: Proven ability to move beyond reactive execution to building a proactive, enterprise-wide marketing strategy that drives measurable business outcomes.
- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of annual planning cycles, budget allocation, marketing investment decisions, and marketing governance models.
- Collaborative Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate teams across diverse business units and geographies.
- Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in using data to tell a story and justify marketing investments and business cases to executive leadership.
