Job Description

The Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that increase awareness, participation, engagement, and organizational growth across the African American Male Wellness Agency (AAMWA). This position leads the planning, coordination, and evaluation of marketing campaigns that promote AAMWA's signature events, health initiatives, educational programs, strategic partnerships, and year-round community engagement efforts.

As a member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Marketing Strategist reports to the Director of Communications and Public Relations and works collaboratively with the Social Media Strategist, Web Administrator, Creative Services, city coordinators, project leads, and organizational leadership to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities and deliver measurable results. The Marketing Strategist serves as the lead for marketing strategy, campaign planning, paid advertising initiatives, audience development, sponsor activation, and performance measurement. This role develops co-branded marketing opportunities with corporate sponsors, healthcare organizations, community partners, and strategic stakeholders to maximize visibility before, during, and after organizational events while expanding AAMWA's reach and strengthening community awareness. Additionally, the Marketing Strategist analyzes campaign performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), prepares marketing reports that measure audience engagement, event participation, and return on investment, and provides strategic recommendations that continuously improve marketing effectiveness and support organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual and quarterly marketing strategies that support organizational priorities and business objectives.
  • Develop and manage email marketing campaigns using marketing automation tools to promote organizational initiatives, nurture audience engagement, support event registrations, and measure campaign performance.
  • Lead and assist in the planning and coordination of integrated marketing campaigns for Black Men's Wellness Day, Uplift Her, Real Men Real Talk, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Identify target audiences and develop marketing strategies that increase awareness, participation, registrations, and engagement.
  • Develop campaign objectives, messaging, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead and collaborate with AAMWA leadership, the national coordinator, and city coordinators on budgets.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for AAMWA's signature events and health initiatives.
  • Create promotional timelines that support registration goals, event attendance, volunteer recruitment, vendor participation, and sponsor activation.
  • Coordinate marketing activities across departments to ensure timely execution of campaign deliverables.
  • Develop post-event marketing strategies that sustain audience engagement and highlight organizational impact.
  • Maintain consistent brand messaging and positioning across all marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure marketing materials align with AAMWA's brand standards and strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and increase organizational visibility among key audiences.
  • Serve as the lead for paid marketing initiatives, including radio, television, billboard, transit, print, and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Strategist to align paid social advertising with overall marketing objectives.
  • Work with the Web Administrator to ensure campaign landing pages and digital experiences support marketing goals.
  • Evaluate audience insights and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, project management, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in marketing, brand management, campaign strategy, nonprofit marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing paid advertising campaigns across multiple marketing channels.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience analyzing campaign performance and developing data-informed marketing recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
