Social Media Marketing Specialist

The Social Media Marketing Specialist represents the voice, personality, and playful spirit of our 7-Eleven brand across social media. We are looking for someone who is genuinely excited about creating, shooting, editing and publishing fun, culturally relevant, and highly engaging content, especially content that resonates with younger audiences and brings our brand to life.

Reporting to the Social Media Marketing Manager and as part of the Marketing, Communications, and Digital team at 7-Eleven Canada, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of social media content and community management. You will create social-first content, identify relevant trends and cultural moments, engage our audiences, and drive reach and engagement across our channels.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Social Media Marketing Manager in the development and implementation of social media channel strategies that align with 7-Eleven’s strategic business objectives to drive traffic and increase conversions in-store and across online channels, including organic social, paid social, content creator and influencer strategy.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of social media campaigns, including coordinating with agency partners on paid content delivery and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain monthly social media content calendars aligned with marketing campaigns, promotions, business priorities and cultural moments.
• Own the creation of social-first content for 7-Eleven, developing concepts and bringing them to life through shooting, editing and publishing content across our social platforms.
• Work independently to create agile, low-fi content while partnering with the internal creative team and agency partners when additional creative support is needed.
• Capture, shoot and edit low-fi social-first photo and video content using a phone and editing tools to support real-time and agile content across platforms.
• Support the execution of creator, influencer and UGC campaigns, coordination, briefing and content approvals.
• Monitor performance across social media channels, analyze campaign metrics and prepare regular reports with recommendations for content optimization.
• Serve as a key voice of the 7-Eleven brand through day-to-day community management across all social platforms. Engage with followers, respond to comments and direct messages, monitor mentions and social sentiment, and ensure interactions are timely, authentic and on-brand. Know when an issue requires escalation.
• Stay informed on emerging social media trends, creator content styles, cultural moments, sounds, formats and platform updates to identify opportunities for the brand to participate in relevant conversations.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in social media marketing, content creation, digital content or a similar role.
• Proven experience developing and executing social media campaigns that have driven engagement and follower growth.
• Strong knowledge of TikTok and Instagram, including trends, formats, creators, sounds and platform culture.
• Demonstrated experience creating short-form social content, including Reels, TikToks or similar formats.
• Proficiency with mobile content creation and editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe or similar platforms.
• Experience managing social media content calendars, publishing workflows and community management.
• Experience with influencer, creator or UGC partnerships is an asset.
• Strong understanding of social media analytics and the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and content for different social platforms.
• Strong understanding of Canadian audiences, culture and social conversations.
• Ability to work independently, move quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong creative instincts, curiosity and a “let’s try it” mindset.
• Cooperative and collaborative attitude with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

The hourly pay range for this position is $28.85–$33.65 per hour, approximately equivalent to $60,000–$70,000 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Candidates residing in the Lower Mainland will be expected to work on-site at our Surrey HQ four days per week. For candidates residing outside Lower Mainland, a fully remote work arrangement may be considered for the right candidate, based on business needs and role requirements.

Pay: $18.00 -$32.00 Hourly
