Job Description

Reports to: Marketing Director

FLSA Status: Full-Time, Salaried-Exempt

Normal Working Hours – Office Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, in our corporate San Antonio office.

As a Marketing Specialist, Graphic Design & Content, you’ll help define and share Joeris’ story by managing marketing campaigns, contributing strategic ideas, and creating print, digital, and web content from concept to completion.

Joeris is preparing to celebrate its 60th anniversary, introduce refreshed brand guidelines, and launch a new website. You’ll actively help develop and coordinate these company-wide initiatives across all offices.

This role is a good fit for an experienced designer and content creator who can see the bigger picture, keep complex projects moving, and identify ways to strengthen the work. Construction experience is not required, but curiosity and a willingness to learn are.

Responsibilities

1. Campaign Strategy & Management; Content Development

a. Manage marketing campaigns from planning through rollout, proactively identifying and recommending improvements to campaigns, creative processes, and marketing materials.

b. Contribute ideas to campaign strategy, messaging, creative direction, audiences and channel selection.

c. Build and oversee project plans, coordinating timelines, deliverables, contributors, approvals, and vendors.

d. Translate campaign goals into cohesive print, digital, web, social media, and event materials.

e. Review campaign results and apply lessons learned to future work.

f. Collaborate with internal teams to gather information, write and edit content for various channels, and adapt messaging for different audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

2. Key First-Year Initiatives

a. Manage projects within Joeris’ 60th anniversary campaign, contributing to development and producing materials across channels.

b. Help plan and implement the rollout of refreshed brand guidelines, identifying materials and templates to create or update.

c. Support the new Joeris website launch by coordinating content, preparing assets, and completing quality reviews.

3. Graphic Design & Brand Support

a. Design print and digital materials, including advertisements, flyers, recruitment materials, presentations, and campaign content.

b. Design signage, banners and branded materials for trade shows, jobsite events, groundbreakings, ribbon-cuttings and other company events.

c. Develop templates and infographics to support project pursuits and interviews in collaboration with the proposal domain marketing team members.

d. Translate messaging and creative direction into clear, effective visuals that support project goals.

e. Ensure consistency across marketing materials by providing brand guidance and reviewing materials to meet brand standards.

f. Coordinate production with printers and other vendors.

4. Website

a. Keep project pages, leadership profiles, blog posts, and other website content accurate and current.

b. Help populate and review content for the new website.

c. Apply SEO best practices and regularly check for outdated content, broken links, and other improvement opportunities.

5. Photography & Video

a. Assist with photography and video projects, including capturing, editing, and organizing content.

b. Grow into employee headshots and broader photo and video production based on experience and interest.

6. Team Collaboration

a. Collaborate with the Marketing Director, marketing teammates, and Joeris leaders, and employees across all Joeris offices.

b. Partner with Manager, Marketing & Pursuits and the proposal domain to enhance visual quality and brand consistency of proposals.

c. Lead project meetings, organize input, and keep stakeholders informed as work progresses.

d. Support additional marketing and administrative needs as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio may be considered in place of a degree.

2. 4+ years of professional experience in graphic design.

3. Demonstrated experience managing marketing campaigns, developing campaign strategy, and designing marketing materials.

4. Demonstrated experience managing website content and applying brand standards.

5. Photography, video editing, illustration, WordPress and SEO experience are helpful but not required.

Skills

1. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

3. Strong design judgment, writing ability and attention to detail.

4. Ability to organize complex projects with multiple contributors, deadlines, and deliverables.

5. Ability to see how each deliverable supports larger campaign or business goals.

6. Ability to contribute thoughtful ideas and recommendations to planning and strategy discussions.

7. Ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and practical opportunities to improve the work.

8. Ability to balance independent ownership with collaboration and feedback.

9. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with employees at all levels of the company, including executives and field teams.

10. Sound judgment when prioritizing work, addressing obstacles, and adjusting to changing needs.

11. Interest in testing and adopting new tools and technologies when they can improve the quality or efficiency of the work.

12. Ability to speak, read, understand, and write in English.
