Job Description

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a Promo Team Member to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCE's Marketing department.

Purpose within the Organization:
The purpose of this position is to support the Marketing Ground Events Team within the Marketing Department by assisting with admissions-focused events that promote Grand Canyon University to prospective high school and transfer students. This role plays a key part in creating welcoming, organized, and engaging event experiences for visitors on campus.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

  • Support full-time Marketing Event Planners with the setup, execution, and breakdown of admissions-focused events
  • Assist with event logistics, including room setup, moving materials/equipment, signage placement, and event tear-down
  • Manage day-of event operations such as guest check-in, directional assistance, crowd flow, and hospitality
  • Create a welcoming and positive experience for prospective students, families, school staff, and visitors while representing GCU in a professional and enthusiastic manner
  • Serve as event hosts for visiting school groups when needed, helping guide groups and maintain engagement throughout the visit
  • Communicate effectively with Admissions Counselors, event staff, and other university partners to ensure smooth event execution
  • Anticipating event needs and proactively assist with problem-solving in fast-paced environments
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Cell phone for communication through GroupMe and When I Work
  • Event materials and equipment including signage, check-in supplies, tables, carts, and promotional materials

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outgoing, friendly, and comfortable engaging with large groups and one-on-one interactions
  • Strong work ethic with willingness to perform hands-on, physically active event work
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and an eye for event presentation
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and do what is needed to support the team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

•Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.

•Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

•Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
