Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Operations Manager based in Canada.

This is a hands-on marketing operations leadership role focused on making marketing technology reliable, scalable, and data-driven. You will own the day-to-day operation and optimization of a sophisticated marketing technology stack, with Marketo at its core and close integration with Salesforce and other platforms. The role has significant autonomy and combines technical execution, process design, troubleshooting, and strategic optimization. You will ensure campaigns launch smoothly, leads are routed accurately, and marketing data can be trusted across the funnel. You will partner closely with Demand Generation, Events, and Sales while setting standards for external execution partners. The role also provides an opportunity to leverage AI and automation to improve marketing efficiency, segmentation, scoring, and quality assurance. This is a fully remote position in Canada, with preference for candidates working in the Eastern Time zone.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the hands-on technical owner of the marketing technology ecosystem, including Marketo and connected webinar, event, enrichment, ABM, email, and related platforms.
  • Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize marketing systems while evaluating and recommending new technologies when business needs arise.
  • Own core operational programs including lead lifecycle management, lead scoring, nurture architecture, and operational campaigns.
  • Monitor programs for gaps, performance issues, routing errors, and logic failures, redesigning workflows and developing scalable, modular, and reusable solutions.
  • Independently diagnose and resolve integrations and data synchronization issues across marketing and sales systems, including field mapping, routing, and platform connections.
  • Manage email channel operations, including segmentation, personalization, dynamic content, deliverability, suppression rules, audience conflicts, and send governance.
  • Own tracking and attribution infrastructure, including UTM standards, campaign taxonomy, channel taxonomy, and supporting attribution systems.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of marketing data used for campaign and performance reporting.
  • Establish and maintain data-quality standards covering hygiene, deduplication, normalization, enrichment, and data retention or purging.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for key systems, workflows, processes, and operational standards.
  • Partner with Demand Generation, Events, and Sales teams to translate business objectives into effective marketing system requirements and prioritize incoming requests.
  • Direct external execution partners by defining technical specifications, processes, standards, and quality expectations.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to building a scalable marketing operations function.
  • Identify and implement AI-powered automation opportunities across scoring, segmentation, quality assurance, reporting, and repetitive operational tasks, while maintaining appropriate governance.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
    • Marketo Certified Expert / Adobe Certified Expert – Marketo Engage certification, or equivalent demonstrated hands-on expertise.
    • Deep practical experience with Marketo and strong functional knowledge of Salesforce, including its data model and Marketo integration.
    • Proven ownership of production lead lifecycle and scoring models, including the ability to demonstrate measurable improvements.
    • Experience implementing and maintaining marketing tracking and attribution infrastructure that supports business reporting.
    • Strong email operations expertise, including segmentation, personalization, nurture programs, deliverability, and sender-reputation fundamentals.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as the sole or senior technical owner of a marketing automation environment.
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes across interconnected systems.
    • Experience establishing operational standards, documentation, governance, and scalable processes.
    • Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate business objectives into technical marketing solutions.
    • Experience directing external agencies and mentoring team members is an advantage.
    • Familiarity with GDPR and CCPA is desirable.
    • Experience with webinar, ABM, enrichment, or event platforms such as 6sense, Clearbit, ZoomInfo, Clay, or Rainfocus is a plus.
    • Experience with modular email development platforms such as Knak, Stensul, or similar tools is an advantage.
    • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail, continuous-improvement instincts, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
    • Benefits:

      • Compensation: CA$102,000–CA$140,000 per year, with eligibility for a bonus program.
      • Remote work: Fully remote position available across Canada, with preference for candidates in the Eastern Time zone.
      • Well-being allowance: $200 USD per month to spend on eligible lifestyle and well-being needs.
      • Comprehensive employee health and life insurance coverage.
      • Statutory vacation plus flexible vacation options.
      • Paid time off for birthdays and volunteering.
      • Employee resource groups and opportunities to participate in team and company-wide gatherings.
      • Career growth opportunities within a rapidly growing SaaS environment.
      • Opportunities to work with modern marketing automation, data, AI, and revenue technology.
      • Less than 10% travel, generally limited to once or twice per year.
      • Background checks are required as part of the hiring process.
