Who We Are

International Justice Mission (IJM) is the global leader in protecting vulnerable people from violence around the world. Our team of over 1,300 professionals are at work worldwide in over 30 offices. Together we are on a mission to rescue millions, protect half a billion, and make justice unstoppable.

We are a global community that cares for one another. We believe that the way we work is as important as the results we achieve. We provide professional excellence with joy and celebration to all those we serve.

The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Marketing Operations Manager, to help our organization operate with clarity, focus, and speed while strengthening how marketing work flows across the organization.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Director, Growth & Insights and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead portfolio management for the Global Marketing organization, helping teams make clear, strategic decisions on what work to prioritize, pause, or stop;

  • Ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and organizational goals, balancing short-term execution with long-term impact;

  • Identify and address execution bottlenecks to keep work moving efficiently;

  • Provide day-to-day coaching to project and program managers;

  • Design intelligent workflow logic that routes work, data, and decisions to the right team members at the right time, eliminating manual triage and reducing handoffs;

  • Map processes across teams to identify automation and integration opportunities that reduce manual work and enable higher-impact activities;

  • Design and implement automated workflows across marketing systems, balancing automation with appropriate human oversight;

  • Design workflows that reduce approval bottlenecks through conditional logic and clear escalation paths;

  • Actively manage projects within work management systems;

  • Continuously strengthen analytical tools, methodologies, and industry best practices; and

  • Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in marketing operations, program or portfolio management, or similar roles;

  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional work and bringing structure to ambiguity;

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills across multiple initiatives;

  • Experience designing workflows and implementing process improvements, including automation tools;

  • Working knowledge of marketing systems and data flows across CRM, marketing automation, project management, and analytics platforms;

  • Experience coaching and managing project or program managers; and

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with technical teams and translate business needs into system requirements.

Critical Qualities:

  • Eager commitment to IJM's Core Values: Christian, Professional and Bridge-Building;

  • Highly curious with strong intellectual rigor and a desire to seek clarity and understanding;

  • Influence through trust and collaboration rather than positional authority;

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication;
