Job Description
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers vision is to be the premier NFL Franchise both on and off the field that sets the standard in global sports entertainment and embodies the spirit of Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers aim to employ individuals whose professionalism and dedication align with our vision.
Mission
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization’s vision is to be the flag-bearer for Tampa Bay past and future, while driving the next generation of NFL culture. The Buccaneers aim to employ individuals whose professionalism and dedication align with our vision.
The Social Media Content Specialist is a hybrid content creator and social media strategist who independently produces, edits, and publishes short-form video across Buccaneers social channels, develops platform strategies, writes copy, and publishes engagement-driven content. This position requires hands-on social video production and editing skills – as well as platform strategy and copywriting fluency.
Essential Functions
Social Video Production & Editing
◦ Independently shoot, edit, and produce short-form vertical video content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, Spotlight) from concept through publish, including on-location capture at practices, games, events, and community activations.
◦ Execute rapid-turnaround social edits using platform-native and social-first editing tools (CapCut, Slate, native platform editors) — applying trend-driven templates, auto-captioning, beat-synced transitions, speed ramps, text overlays, and sound design to produce content optimized for each platform’s algorithm and retention mechanics.
◦ Operate camera equipment (smartphone) to capture video content in challenging, unscripted environments — stadium sidelines, locker rooms, outdoor events, and community activations — including managing audio capture and lighting in loud, mixed, and uncontrolled settings.
◦ Stay current on emerging social editing techniques, platform feature releases, trending audio/formats, and creator tool innovations; translate trends into Buccaneers-branded content within hours of emergence.
Social Media Strategy & Publishing
◦ Develop and execute content strategies across social channels that advance the Buccaneers’ brand mission as the cultural flag-bearers for Tampa Bay.
◦ Lead ideation and copywriting across Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat and TikTok — writing on-brand captions, overlays, and CTAs in the Buccaneers voice while planning and publishing engagement-driven content optimized for each platform.
◦ Collaborate cross-functionally with Digital, Marketing, Creative, Partnership, and Community teams to develop content and submit requests for tentpole campaigns, events, and initiatives.
◦ Lead content strategy and publishing for ancillary social accounts and sub-channels (e.g., Team Store, Flag Football), ensuring voice and tone align with brand standards.
◦ Integrate partner campaigns into social content, ensuring sponsor deliverables are met while maintaining brand voice and content quality.
◦ Support growth audience development initiatives as assigned, including content production and publishing for female fan engagement, international, and community programming.
◦ Execute gameday and real-time content, including live social coverage, in-game moments, and rapid-response publishing.
◦ Monitor performance analytics to evolve content approach and share actionable insights with internal stakeholders.
