About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Lancet Group as a Marketing Manager on a 12-month fixed contract, leading event-based marketing projects and campaigns that support strategic business objectives and strengthen engagement with authors, readers, and community partners. You will deliver end-to-end marketing activity across a wide range of events and digital channels, helping maximize the reach and impact of world-leading scientific and medical content.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with Lancet Marketing & Communications, editorial teams, and colleagues across Elsevier to deliver impactful events and event-focused campaigns for clinical audiences
  • Acting as the primary producer for live and on-demand Lancet webinars
  • Liaising with external partners and internal stakeholders to promote and deliver Lancet Lectures
  • Owning marketing plans and developing campaigns to drive abstract submissions, event registrations, website traffic, content usage, and lead generation
  • Creating and maintaining event landing pages on TheLancet.com in collaboration with Product Managers and Web Content Solutions teams
  • Driving optimisation and discoverability of conference and event-related offerings
  • Reporting on campaign performance, insights, and event marketing spend against budget

Requirements

  • Relevant marketing experience, preferably within publishing, healthcare, academia, or a related industry
  • Demonstrable project management, time management, and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ownership, growth, agile, and experimental mindsets focused on continuous improvement and performance outcomes
  • Experience using marketing technology platforms such as BigMarker, HubSpot, Braze, Sprinklr, or Monday.com, alongside design tools such as Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro, or Canva
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Fluency with AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation and adapting successfully to changing priorities and uncertainty
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
