Marketing Manager

This position oversees all marketing development, execution and analysis for the three major auxiliary organizations (Retail, Dining and Production Services). The Marketing Manager oversees a team of marketing specialists and works closely with both creative design and merchandising to ensure excellent execution of strategies to promote products/services, build brand awareness, and drive customer engagement. This role is responsible for project management across marketing initiatives, including establishing timelines and priorities, coordinating resources and stakeholders, tracking project progress, and ensuring projects and deliverables are completed accurately and on time. All digital marketing including social media, email, and ad production is either directly or indirectly overseen by this role. Finally, this leader is responsible to be heavily involved in data analysis and customer segmentation studies. It is expected they will both conduct and discern analytical information leading to improved performance.

What you’ll do in this position:

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive customer engagement.
  • Monitor and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Ensure a high level of service and quality in both consultation and execution of strategies.
  • Manage marketing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timelines, priorities, resources, and deliverables are effectively coordinated, and projects are completed on time.
  • Work with eCommerce teams to develop website designs and pages that increase conversion/click through.
  • Develop specific marketing campaigns for each unique channel or division within the auxiliaries family.
  • Execute events such as author/artist signings, athlete appearances, on-campus conferences, etc.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Conducts monthly promotion coordination meetings with sales, product development and creative teams to coordinate timing, design and messaging of initiatives.
  • Communicate and consult with key internal stakeholders regularly.
  • Collaborate with on-campus partners including athletics, alumni, dining, production, first year experience and other departments.
  • Regularly share results with partners and discuss ways to elevate campaign performance.
  • Maintain campaign calendars and planners and ensure access by key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external agencies and vendors.
  • Propose changes to marketing materials within physical spaces (wall wraps, customer signage, product signage, etc.)

Research & Performance Analysis

  • Conduct market research and customer segmentation to inform targeted strategies
  • Track and report on campaign performance using key metrics like ROI and conversion rates
  • Support product development with customer feedback and surveys
  • Mentor and guide student interns involved in marketing initiatives

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing others in a professional setting
  • Experience working directly with clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) or equivalent Apple software
  • Experience managing and creating content across multiple social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok)
  • Strong general computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software and interfaces

Preferred

  • 3–4+ years of professional marketing experience
  • 2+ years of advanced project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of client relationship management and campaign execution
  • Experience with Adobe XD or similar UX/UI design tools (e.g., Figma, InVision, UXPin)

Pay Grade: 53

Typical Starting Pay: $73,000 - $95,000

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
