Events Marketing Manager

Who We Are:

GEODIS specializes in unlocking business value in a complex world, ensuring seamless movement of goods worldwide. As a global third-party logistics provider (3PL), we power A Better Way to Deliver for the world's top brands and manufacturers. Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.

The Event Marketing Manager is a high-impact role responsible for the end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of approximately 25 events per year, including industry tradeshows, conferences, client hospitality events, experiential activations, and internal stakeholder engagements. Role is a strategic marketer, using events as a demand generation and relationship-building engine, integrating multichannel campaigns before, during, and after each event to maximize pipeline impact and brand visibility. Combines excellent project management discipline with creative thinking, strong stakeholder management, and automation to eliminate manual work so the team can focus on building relationships and winning business.

Your role on the team:

  • Event Strategy & Execution:
  • Own the annual event calendar and strategy for approximately 25 events per year, including industry tradeshows, conferences, hosted client events, experiential activations, and focus groups.
  • Manage end-to-end event logistics: venue/booth selection, booth design and build-out, freight and shipping coordination, promotional items, signage, A/V requirements catering, travel, and accommodations.
  • Negotiate with tradeshow and event organizers to secure optimal booth placement, sponsorship packages, and speaking engagement opportunities for GEODIS leaders.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, track spend against plan, and provide regular financial reporting with clear ROI analysis.
  • Travel to key events to oversee on-site execution, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure a seamless experience for all stakeholders.
  • Demand Generation & Campaign Integration:
  • Design and execute multi-channel campaign activations (email, social, digital, direct mail, sales outreach) before, during, and after each event to drive registration, booth traffic, meeting bookings, and post-event conversion.
  • Own the complete lead lifecycle from event capture through opportunity creation: manage on-site lead collection, ensure all leads are entered into the CRM (Salesforce or equivalent) within 48 hours, enforce lead scoring and routing protocols, and maintain source attribution tagging so that every event-sourced prospect can be tracked from initial contact through closed-won revenue.
  • Establish and maintain a rigorous event attribution framework that tracks KPIs from top of funnel through revenue: attendance, engagement, MQLs generated, opportunities created, pipeline influenced, and closed-won revenue attributed to events. This data is the foundation for event program budget defense and investment decisions.
  • Produce post-event recap reports within two weeks of each event, including ROI analysis, lead quality assessment, attribution data, stakeholder follow-up compliance, and actionable recommendations. Compile quarterly and annual event portfolio reviews that demonstrate program value and inform future investment allocation.
  • Stakeholder Accountability & Event Readiness:
  • Define and enforce a clear event service level agreement (SLA) for all internal attendees
  • including sales representatives, client services team members, and executives, covering preevent preparation requirements, on-site engagement expectations, and post-event follow-up deadlines.
  • Drive pre-event readiness for all GEODIS attendees: prepare and distribute event playbooks with elevator pitches, competitive intelligence, target account briefings, meeting schedules, and demo training. Hold mandatory pre-event briefings and confirm that all attendees have completed their preparation milestones.
  • Own post-event follow-up accountability: track that all leads are entered into the CRM within agreed timelines, that sales follow-up activities are initiated, and that meeting notes and next steps are documented. Escalate non-compliance to sales and marketing leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate client and prospect hospitality events, dinners, and VIP experiences that strengthen relationships and create business development opportunities. Ensure attendees are prepared with account context and clear objectives for each interaction.
  • Plan and facilitate client-facing focus groups and experiential events throughout the year, collaborating with client services and operations teams to ensure participant engagement and actionable outcomes.
  • Produce post-event stakeholder scorecards that track attendee participation, preparation completion, lead follow-up rates, and conversion outcomes, creating visibility and accountability across the commercial organization.
  • Innovation, Automation & Efficiency:
  • Build repeatable playbooks, templates, and processes for event execution that can scale across the organization.
  • Capture event content (presentations, interviews, panels) and collaborate with the marketing team
to repurpose for post-event content marketing.
  • Apply an AI-first and automation mindset to every operational challenge: design and deploy AI agents, swarms, and automated workflows as the default solution for repetitive tasks such as lead list preparation, attendee communications, scheduling, post-event data entry, and reporting.
  • Continuously identify new opportunities to automate and operationalize event workflows through AI.
  • Industry Relationships & Market Intelligence:
  • Build and maintain a network of relationships with industry tradeshow organizers, conference producers, venue partners, and vendors to keep GEODIS at the forefront of event opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor event activity and identify opportunities for GEODIS to differentiate its
    presence.
