Marketing Intern - Event Coordination (15-25 hours per week)

Pay: $18 – $20 an hour

Location: Springfield, MO

This internship supports the planning, coordination, and execution of CSI’s major events and related employee programs across multiple locations. The Marketing Intern - Event Coordination will help keep event logistics, employee participation, item selections, orders, shipments, distribution details, and follow-up needs organized and accurate.

The role also supports the Marketing team with graphic design, artwork preparation, and basic formatting projects using Adobe Creative Suite. Success in this role requires strong organization, exceptional attention to detail, proactive follow-up, and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist with coordinating CSI events across multiple locations, including venues, catering, entertainment, A/V, transportation, rentals, supplies, signage, and other event needs.
• Help maintain event timelines and planning details, including budgets, vendor information, contracts, deadlines, payment documentation, attendee information, and follow-up items.
• Support communication with vendors and internal teams by gathering information, confirming arrangements, following up on outstanding items, and helping keep event activities on schedule.
• Assist with CSI’s employee apparel, gifts, and swag programs, including tracking selections, sizes, quantities, orders, shipments, delivery dates, and distribution details.
• Help organize, pack, and ship event materials, including materials for events outside Missouri, while maintaining accurate records of orders, receipts, and distribution status.
• Assist with graphic design and marketing projects using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, including signage, event materials, apparel graphics, presentations, flyers, and forms.
• Support the preparation, formatting, and proofing of marketing materials for print, digital, apparel, promotional products, and events while helping maintain organized files and accurate final materials.

What you Bring:

• Strong event planning, event coordination, or project coordination experience
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to track deadlines, selections, orders, shipments, vendor information, and follow-up items accurately
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and proactively follow up when information or decisions are needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple details and priorities at once
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Required Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Currently enrolled in a University program, preferably pursuing a degree in Communications, Event Management, or related field.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to interact with employees verbally and in writing, remain in a stationary position for 80% of the workday, have close visual acuity, and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a phone, copy/fax/scan machine, computer keyboard and mouse with or without reasonable accommodation. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift, stoop, bend, and lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
