Job Description
The Marketing Executive supports the Product Development Manager (PDM) in the commercial workstreams of the full product development lifecycle, covering both New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (XPD)/reformulations. This is an execution-first role: the Marketing Executive does the groundwork such as market research, marketing briefs, product storytelling, competitive tracking, tracker maintenance, launch coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
Market Research & Consumer Insights
- Conduct weekly market research using TikTok MarketScope data — GMV by category, top products, growth rates, buyer trends
- Track competitor activity: new launches, pricing changes, claims, content angles, TikTok performance
- Prepare competitive benchmarking summaries per product category
- Identify white-space opportunities and underserved consumer needs — present findings to PDM weekly
- Support XPD/reformulation decisions by tracking consumer feedback, reviews, and competitor reformulations
Marketing Briefs & CX Briefs
- Draft Marketing Briefs per SKU based on PDM direction — product name, key selling points, target consumer, campaign angle, visual direction (both NPD and XPD)
- Draft CX (Customer Experience) Briefs for new products entering prototype — define the intended end-user experience: texture, scent, finish, packaging feel, usage occasion
- For XPD/reformulations: update existing Marketing Briefs when formulation changes impact claims, INC list, or product positioning — coordinate with R&D on changes
- Ensure all briefs are grounded in market data and brand positioning
- Coordinate with R&D and Creatives to translate briefs into actionable formulation and design direction
Product Storytelling & Packaging Copy
- Write on-pack copy direction: product name, hero claim, ingredient callouts, usage instructions tone, benefit hierarchy
- Develop product narrative and key selling points aligned to brand positioning
- Coordinate with Creatives on artwork direction — ensure visual execution matches commercial positioning
- Review label artworks against approved claims and SOP requirements before submission to PDM for Pre-Print Clearance
- Flaf any label updates required due to formula changes and coordinate revision with Creatives and Regulatory
NPD & XPD Tracker Maintenance
- Maintain and update the NPD/XPD Master Tracker weekly — stage, status, blockers, stability milestones, flags
- Sync tracker with R&D weekly update file — capture stability results, formulation changes, new comments — and surface changes to PDM for review and decision
- Track XPD/reformulation projects separately: monitor stability milestones, costing updates, marketing brief revision status, and CPN implications
- Prepare the S&M One-Pager update for weekly Sales and Marketing alignment meetings
- Compile and format the PDM weekly alignment update
Launch Readiness Coordination
- Track launch readiness per SKU — content, stock, FDA clearance, channel readiness, pricing confirmation
- Follow up with cross-functional teams (SCM, QRRS, Creatives, Sales, Regulatory) on outstanding launch checklist items
- Flag delays and blockers to PDM immediately
- Coordinate with Sales team for volume inputs, pricing alignment, and channel stocking timelines
- Maintain launch calendar — update based on pipeline shifts and PDM decisions
NPD Process Administration Support
Per the revised NPD SOP (6-Gate Process), the Marketing Executive is responsible for the following admin and coordination tasks at each gate:
- Phase 1 — Ideation (Gate 1) Collate NPD ideas from all channels; fill out NPD Data Form; prepare product brief / 1-pager NPD Data Form, Product Brief, 1-pager
- Phase 2 — Formulation & Costing (Gate 2) Coordinate with R&D on costing submission; track Go/No-Go status; file approved formulations Gate 2 tracker update, costing file filed
- Phase 3 — Prototyping (Gate 3) Coordinate packaging ideation with R&D and Marketing; follow up Procurement on RM PRs; prepare Gate 3 review pack for PDM/CEO Packaging brief, prototype review pack
- Phase 4 — Stability Testing (Gate 4) Monitor stability milestones (1, 3, 6 months); update tracker; flag results to PDM; trigger tech brief request after 1-month pass Stability milestone tracker, flag report
- Phase 5 — Regulatory & Label (Gate 5) Coordinate Marketing Brief and CX Brief with Technical Brief; follow up label design; track CPN status; compile Gate 5 sign-off checklist for PDM review Marketing Brief, label revision tracker, Gate 5 checklist
- Phase 6 — Engineering Run & NPL (Gate 6) Track E-Run schedule with AMRieta and R&D; compile NPL handover documentation; update launch calendar NPL handover pack, launch calendar update
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, brand management, or product management
SKILL AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong writing and communication skills — can write clear, concise product narratives and campaign briefs
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Comfortable with data — can read and interpret TikTok/e-commerce performance metrics
- Highly organized and detail-oriented — can manage multiple SKUs and deadlines simultaneously
- Proactive communicator — surfaces issues early and asks for direction when needed
Preferred/Advantage
- Experience in FMCG, beauty, personal care, or skincare industry
- Familiarity with TikTok Shop, Shopee, or Lazada seller ecosystem
- Experience using TikTok Market Scope or similar e-commerce analytics tools
- Background in NPD, XPD, or product launch coordination
- Knowledge of FDA cosmetic regulations in the Philippines
- Experience with reformulation processes or stability testing coordination
