Job Description

Plymouth Rock Assurance is a leading personal lines insurance carrier committed to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to its customers and partners. We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and highly organized Marketing Events Manager to lead the planning, development, and execution of a best-in-class events program for a variety of internal and external audiences. This role is responsible for designing and delivering memorable events, from small executive meetings to largescale, multiday domestic and international experiences, that strengthen relationships, reinforce our brand, and support business goals across Marketing, Sales, and Senior Leadership.

As the Events Manager on the Marketing Communications Team, you will oversee the full events lifecycle, including strategic planning, vendor management, process optimization, budget accountability, and onsite execution. You will have final decision-making authority on vendor selection, contract approvals, and event design direction. You will bring new ideas to the table, enhance program performance, and build a scalable, efficient framework that supports a rapidly growing events portfolio. This position sits at the intersection of Marketing, Field Operations, Executive Leadership, and external partners, requiring strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to guide stakeholders toward a unified events strategy. The Events Manager will directly manage and develop the Senior Events Associate and any support staff.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Events Leadership

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with business priorities and supports brand positioning.
  • Own the annual events calendar and present program strategy, performance, and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Establish best practices, processes, and standards for event production to ensure consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Event Design & Execution

  • Oversee the design and execution of multiday, multifaceted events including incentive-based travel opportunities, annual corporate meetings, golf and sports outings, and customer engagement experiences.
  • Ensure events are innovative, on-brand, and delivered with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Manage all event logistics from sourcing through onsite execution, ensuring seamless operations and memorable attendee experiences.

Operational & Vendor Management

  • Build strong relationships with venues, hospitality partners, production teams, transportation providers, and other vendors.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, contract reviews, and performance management to maximize value and mitigate risk.
  • Create detailed event timelines, run-of-show documents, staffing plans, and delivery schedules.

Budget & Performance Management

  • Oversee an annual events budget of $1.5M+ across a portfolio of 200+ events
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining exceptional event quality.
  • Analyze event performance, attendee feedback, and ROI metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including our field team and senior leadership, to understand company event goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other Marketing Communications teams to develop branded materials, promotional items, and attendee communications.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to internal contributors and external partners to ensure flawless execution.

Onsite Leadership

  • Serve as the primary onsite lead for major events, directing staff, managing logistics, and addressing issues to maintain a seamless attendee experience.
  • Travel 10–15% for event setup, coordination, and event oversight (including occasional evenings and weekends).

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of prior event planning experience, preferably in a corporate or hospitality setting.
  • Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and internationally. Passport required. (10–15%, including occasional evenings and weekends)
  • Strong project and program management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership.
  • Highly organized, strategic thinker with the ability to build scalable processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Prior people management experience
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands on execution.
  • Experience in hospitality is a plus, demonstrating a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $130,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
