The M&DX Faculty Partner is responsible for optimising the educational value proposition and program portfolio of an allocated business unit. The role shapes initiatives for local and international markets to improve program competitiveness, support student volume, quality and diversity outcomes, and identify opportunities to develop new programs in response to emerging demand.

Acting as the primary connection between the business unit and UNSW’s central marketing, student recruitment and digital experience functions, the role provides strategic advice, builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and balances business unit priorities with the broader interests of the University. The M&DX Faculty Partner drives outcomes, manages projects and coordinates activity across Faculties by drawing on subject matter expertise from teams throughout UNSW.

The role reports to the Team Lead, M&DX Faculty Partners, has no direct reports and provides indirect leadership to three to four Senior Recruitment Product Managers and Faculty Recruitment Officers.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead the development of the assigned Faculty / Business Unit learner recruitment strategy (inclusive of LLL, TNE, non-award, B2B/B2G etc.) in line with the overarching Faculty strategy and UNSW Marketing & Digital Experience strategy, incorporating achievement of student load plan targets and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Business Leadership (Dean, FED, Associate Deans, Heads of School, etc.) in matters related to educational value proposition, product strategy and portfolio management, student recruitment and marketing, branding and digital experience to identify critical ways in which the faculty can achieve domestic and international commercial outcomes.
  • Responsible for shaping and optimising the Faculty product portfolio to improve portfolio market share and maximise new demand opportunities across domestic and international markets, including oversight of new program development, market research and go to market launch, core program benchmarking, competitive monitoring and recommendations for remedial program positioning.

About You:

  • A relevant degree with extensive experience in senior business partnering/ stakeholder management roles or an equivalent level of industry knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • Outstanding relationship management skills, with a demonstrable track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful organisational outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an ability to set targets, plan complex work plans and review return on investment to achieve business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering sales and marketing strategies that achieve business outcomes for complex product/ service portfolios.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects with high-level critical thinking and analytical skills plus the ability to distil complex information and finalise development objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and execute strategy on behalf of Senior Executives and to influence, as appropriate, to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Successful record of managing multiple, complex initiatives, coupled with a genuine passion for customer service. University and Faculty experience is highly desired.
