At Ferryscanner, data plays a key role in understanding customer behaviour, measuring marketing performance, and identifying opportunities for growth. As we continue to strengthen our data-driven approach to marketing, we are looking for an experienced Marketing Data Analyst/Scientist to turn complex data into actionable insights that help drive better performance and smarter investment decisions.

As a Marketing Data Analyst/Scientist, you will help our marketing team understand what is driving paid-search performance and where there are opportunities to improve. You will analyse campaign and customer data, develop reporting and forecasts, investigate performance trends, and support data-driven optimisation of our paid-search investment. You will work extensively with SQL, BigQuery, and GA4, combining data from different sources to uncover insights and answer complex business questions.

You will report to our Head of Product Development and collaborate with our SEM Specialists, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, and other business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyse SEM and paid-search performance across campaigns, markets, products, and other relevant dimensions
• Partner closely with the SEM Specialists to identify trends, opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for optimisation
• Use SQL and BigQuery to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets
• Analyse GA4 data alongside advertising and business data to understand customer behaviour and marketing performance
• Build and maintain datasets, reports, and dashboards that provide clear visibility into SEM performance and key KPIs
• Develop forecasts and analytical models to support budget planning and performance expectations
• Investigate performance fluctuations and identify the key drivers behind changes in metrics
• Analyse the impact of campaign, bidding, budget, and targeting changes
• Support experimentation and performance testing, helping the team measure results and understand what works and why
• Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for the SEM team and wider business
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and SEM measurement

Requirements

Qualifications, skills & knowledge

• At least 4 years proven experience as a Data Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role, ideally within a performance-driven, product-led, marketplace, travel, or consumer technology business
• Strong SQL skills, with hands-on experience analysing large datasets
• Good understanding of SEM/PPC, paid acquisition, and digital marketing metrics
• Experience analysing Google Ads or other paid-search data
• Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Experience building dashboards and reports using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
